Mending Heart Bellies is partnering with Maya, a Girl Scout Junior, who is working on her Bronze Award. Maya is the oldest surviving daughter in a family with two sons and a daughter who passed away shortly after birth as well as a sibling to six miscarried babies. For her Bronze Award, she is making memorial boxes for area hospitals that contain a journal and pen, camera, prayer card, appropriately sized blanket and hat for a second trimester delivered baby, and resources for bereavement. In addition, she is creating miscarriage packets that contain a copy of "Goodbye for Hello: letters to my miscarried baby", a pen, and a list of resources.
Donations can be made in memory or honor of a child or family.
$30 will sponsor a memory box; $12 will sponsor a packet.
Boxes and packets will be created and delivered during the fall of 2018.
